Job Profiles

Want to know more about the roles that CK Healthcare recruit for?  Thinking of a career in Laboratory Medicine or Pharmacy and need to know what you your job will involve?

The Health Science Services (HSS) staff group within the NHS covers all Laboratory and Pharmacy roles.

Laboratory roles are often for HPC (State Registered) Biomedical and Clinical Scientists with a specialist portfolio in Microbiology, Haematology, Blood Transfusion, Biochemistry, Histology or Cytology.  Laboratories also need Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLAs) to work supporting all disciplines and are often involved with booking in patient samples coming into the Pathology Laboratories.

Pharmacists are crucial to any hospital and the demand for Locums is high. You may have a general Pharmacy background or specialise in a particular area such as Clinical, Dispensing or Aseptics.  Our clients also need Pharmacists who specialise in a particular therapeutic area such as Cardiology, Oncology or Mental Health.  To work as a Locum in the NHS you must be registered with the RSPGB in the UK.

Pharmacy Technicians work to support Pharmacy departments and there is an increasing requirement for Technicians to be registered with the RSPGB.  Technicians are becoming more involved in key decisions within the Pharmacy and have a defined career path within the NHS.
